About the Opportunity: As a Design Lead, you will play a crucial role in overseeing our design team and shaping the visual and conceptual direction of our projects. Working closely with project managers and the construction team, you will contribute to the delivery of outstanding commercial spaces. Reporting directly to our Studio Director, you will lead and mentor a team of designers, providing guidance to ensure high-quality design output and actively contributing to the continuous improvement of our design practice.

About the Deliverables:

  • Develop and execute innovative design concepts aligned with project frameworks, client programs, and budget requirements.
  • Lead client presentations, fostering relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Supervise the preparation of presentation materials, Permit Drawings, Tender Drawings, and Construction Drawings for ongoing projects.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, clients, consultants, and other project participants to ensure successful design execution.
  • Facilitate training and mentorship for new and junior designers.
  • Stay current with innovative design trends and materials.

About You:

  • 8+ years of experience in Interior Design, with NCIDQ Certification being a strong asset.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Illustrator, Sketchup, or similar design software.
  • Knowledge of building codes, standards, and structures.
  • Strong people management experience, organizational, and relationship-management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (interpersonal and written).
