We’re looking for a Studio Manager to lead a growing Residential practice within a globally recognized architecture and engineering firm. The Residential team works on a diverse portfolio that includes high-rise and mid-rise residential, mixed-use developments, transit-oriented communities, attainable housing, adaptive reuse projects, townhomes, and senior living environments. The focus is on creating vibrant, sustainable communities that support the way people live today and in the future.

What You’ll Do

Lead the Studio

  • Oversee the overall performance and success of the Residential studio
  • Manage staffing, resource planning, and workload forecasting across multiple projects
  • Develop and execute annual operating plans aligned with revenue and growth objectives
  • Monitor studio performance and adjust strategies to support business goals
  • Report regularly on studio operations, financial performance, and resource requirements

Support Project Success

  • Work closely with Project Managers and technical teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards
  • Participate in project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation
  • Attend project meetings and provide leadership on technical, operational, and client matters
  • Review project work for design quality, technical excellence, and risk management
  • Participate in monthly project reviews to monitor profitability and performance

Develop Client Relationships

  • Support business development initiatives and contribute to new opportunities
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and industry partners
  • Participate in proposals, presentations, and strategic growth initiatives
  • Ensure exceptional service delivery across all projects

Mentor and Develop Teams

  • Lead, coach, and mentor architects, designers, and technical staff
  • Manage performance reviews, salary recommendations, promotions, and career development planning
  • Oversee staffing levels and succession planning within the studio
  • Foster a collaborative, innovative, and high-performing team culture
  • Support health, safety, and professional development initiatives

What You’ll Bring

  • Degree in Architecture or a related discipline
  • 10+ years of leadership experience within an architectural practice, including experience leading residential projects such as multi-family residential, mixed-use developments, mid-rise and high-rise residential, transit-oriented communities, attainable housing, adaptive reuse, townhomes, and senior living.
  • Experience managing and developing architectural teams
  • Strong understanding of project delivery, staffing, financial management, and business operations
  • Advanced knowledge of architectural design, building systems, construction methodologies, permitting processes, and building codes
  • Strong communication, leadership, and client relationship skills
  • Registration with a professional architectural association is considered an asset

Compensation: $120,000 – $170,000 annually + Bonus + RRSP Match
