Job Description

For a furniture designer who genuinely loves the product, this is a rare opportunity to help shape a growing luxury residential collection.

This role is for someone who notices proportions, detailing, craftsmanship, materials, comfort, and construction. Someone with a strong appreciation for contemporary European furniture and luxury residential design who wants to create products that feel refined, intentional, and beautifully resolved.

We’re partnering with a growing luxury residential furniture brand looking for a Product Development & Design Manager to help shape the next phase of the collection across seating, lighting, case goods, and accessories.

This role is ideal for a strong Intermediate-level designer who wants more ownership and creative influence without stepping away from the actual work. You’ll play a central role in developing concepts, refining products, collaborating with production, and helping define the direction of the brand.

The environment is collaborative, hands-on, and highly design-driven. The right person is equally comfortable sketching concepts, refining technical details, reviewing prototypes, and solving production challenges.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and develop contemporary furniture collections from concept through production
  • Create original concepts through sketching, 3D modeling, rendering, and material exploration
  • Produce detailed technical drawings and production-ready CAD models
  • Collaborate closely with internal production, upholstery, and operations teams
  • Oversee prototyping, sample reviews, and fabrication coordination
  • Research trends, materials, craftsmanship, and evolving directions within the luxury furniture market
  • Work with external suppliers and manufacturing partners to support quality and production goals
  • Help evolve the overall product direction and design language of the brand
  • Integrate AI tools and emerging technologies into the design and development process

What we’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in high-end furniture or product design
  • Experience within luxury residential or hospitality-focused design environments
  • Strong understanding of contemporary furniture design and European design aesthetics
  • Strong technical knowledge of furniture construction, detailing, materials, and manufacturing
  • Seating experience is highly preferred
  • Exposure to lighting and case goods is considered an asset
  • Comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with a small, highly involved team
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

Experience from respected luxury studios or brands is highly valued.

Software Requirements: SolidWorks, 3D CAD, KeyShot, Adobe Creative Suite, AI design tools/programs

Compensation & Structure

  • Salary: $95K–$130K
  • Toronto-based | Hybrid (4 days/week)

If you’re looking for a role where you can combine creativity, technical depth, and real product ownership while working on highly considered contemporary furniture, we’d love to connect.
