Job Description

Do you enjoy becoming a trusted part of your client’s team rather than juggling multiple clients and competing deadlines?

Are you someone who likes taking ownership of projects, solving problems, and building relationships? Do you enjoy the balance of design, project coordination, and client interaction?

Our client is seeking an experienced Interior Designer / Facilities Project Lead to join their team in a unique embedded role, working full-time on-site at a large corporate head office. You’ll become the dedicated design and project coordination resource for the workplace, leading space planning, office moves, furniture reconfigurations, and small renovation projects that improve the employee experience every day.

What You’ll Do

You’ll manage a variety of workplace and facilities projects from concept through implementation, including:

  • Meet with internal stakeholders to understand workplace needs and develop practical design solutions.
  • Lead office moves, space planning initiatives, furniture reconfigurations, and workplace improvements.
  • Prepare space plans, furniture layouts, construction drawings, and project documentation using AutoCAD.
  • Coordinate contractors, furniture vendors, consultants, and trades.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, quotations, and installations.
  • Oversee small renovation projects from planning through construction and project close-out.
  • Maintain as-built drawings, workplace standards, and facility documentation.
  • Support ongoing facility improvements across the head office and regional locations.

Most projects are small to medium in scale, with a strong focus on workplace planning, furniture reconfigurations, and facility improvements rather than large-scale construction.

What We’re Looking For

  • ARIDO Registered Interior Designer.
  • NCIDQ Certified.
  • 5+ years of commercial interior design experience.
  • Experience leading projects from concept through implementation or construction.
  • Strong AutoCAD skills and experience producing construction documentation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Comfortable managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

You’ll Be Successful in This Role If You…

  • You genuinely enjoy helping people and take pride in delivering exceptional service.
  • You’re confident sharing your expertise and recommending practical design solutions while understanding how to work within established processes and business priorities.
  • You’re highly organized and can comfortably balance multiple requests, projects, and deadlines without losing attention to detail.
  • You communicate professionally with people at every level of an organization and know how to build trust with a wide range of personalities.
  • You’re calm under pressure, solutions-focused, and enjoy being the person others rely on to keep projects moving.
  • You’re proactive, resourceful, and comfortable working independently while taking ownership of your work.
  • You value collaboration, professionalism, and strong relationships just as much as great design.

Why You’ll Love This Role

  • Own your projects from concept through completion in a dedicated on-site role.
  • Become a trusted partner to one corporate client instead of juggling multiple clients.
  • Enjoy a varied role combining interior design, workplace planning, and project coordination.
