An established international architecture and design practice is seeking an Architectural Quality Manager to join its growing Toronto office.

With a diverse portfolio spanning industrial, retail, residential, education, healthcare, and commercial projects, the firm continues to expand its presence. As the Toronto office grows, this role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact by shaping technical standards, mentoring project teams, and helping elevate the quality of work across the practice. If you enjoy solving technical challenges, improving documentation quality, and becoming the go-to resource for project teams, this is an opportunity to build a long-term career in technical leadership.

What You’ll Do

  • Review construction document packages for technical accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Ensure compliance with the Ontario Building Code, National Building Code of Canada, and applicable regulations.
  • Maintain and continually improve the firm’s QA/QC standards, drawing quality, and documentation processes.
  • Act as the technical resource for the Canadian offices, ensuring consistency and quality across all project teams.
  • Collaborate with the firm’s U.S.-based QA/QC department while leading technical standards for the Canadian practice.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to architects, technologists, and project teams throughout the documentation phase.
  • Support teams with building code interpretation, technical detailing, constructability reviews, and technical problem solving.
  • Participate in Contract Administration activities as needed to support technical quality and resolve site-related issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, documentation standards, and quality assurance processes across the firm.

What We’re Looking For

  • 10-15 years of architectural experience with a strong technical background.
  • Extensive experience preparing and reviewing Construction Documents.
  • Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and National Building Code of Canada.
  • Experience reviewing technical drawings across a variety of project types.
  • Experience mentoring and coaching architects and technologists, helping elevate the technical quality of project teams.
  • Contract Administration experience is considered an asset.
  • Experience working in a small to mid-sized architectural firm.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to identify technical issues and recommend practical solutions.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence providing constructive technical feedback.
  • Registered Architect, Intern Architect, or Architectural Technologist backgrounds will all be considered. .

Why Join?

This is a unique opportunity to step into a office wide technical leadership role rather than a traditional project delivery position. You’ll work across multiple sectors, influence the quality of every project produced by the office, and play a key role in developing technical standards as the practice continues to grow.

If you’re passionate about building codes, construction documentation, technical excellence, and mentoring others, we’d love to hear from you.
