An established design studio is looking for an experienced Senior Interior Designer to work on commercial interiors, fitness and wellness spaces, and branded environments for nationally recognized clients across Canada.
This role combines creative design with strong technical delivery. You’ll take projects from concept through construction, work directly with clients and consultants, and produce detailed drawing packages that bring designs to life. The studio’s work includes individual locations, prototype development and national rollout programs.
Professionals with backgrounds in interior design, architectural technology or architectural design are welcome. Strong commercial construction documentation skills are essential.
What you’ll do
- Develop design concepts and space planning solutions that reflect client brands, budgets and project requirements.
- Produce construction drawing packages, including floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, finish plans, elevations and millwork details.
- Select and specify materials, finishes, furnishings and lighting, considering costs, availability and lead times.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, vendors and fabricators.
- Prepare presentations and participate in client meetings.
- Support prototype development and national rollout programs.
- Review shop drawings, conduct site visits and monitor construction progress.
- Manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines while maintaining accurate documentation.
What you’ll bring
- At least five years of commercial interior design or architectural experience, with a strong understanding of retail and commercial projects
- A diploma or degree in Interior Design, Architectural Technology, Architecture or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- AutoCAD and Revit proficiency and experience producing detailed commercial construction documents.
- Solid knowledge of construction methods, building codes, materials and technical detailing.
- Experience coordinating consultants, contractors and vendors.
- Strong communication, organization and project management skills.
- The ability to work independently and collaborate closely with a small team.
- Availability to attend the Woodstock office 1-2 days weekly and travel within Ontario and across Canada occasionally.
Experience with Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, Twinmotion, environmental branding, signage or wayfinding is an asset. ARIDO registration or eligibility is welcome but is not required.
