A well-established architectural practice with over 65 years of success is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join its Markham office. This position is suited to a senior-level professional who is motivated by responsibility, values clear decision-making, and is interested in contributing to the long-term growth of the practice.
Reporting directly to a Partner, the successful candidate will lead a focused project team of four and manage a portfolio with an emphasis on commercial and/or industrial work.
The project mix may include commercial developments (including shopping plazas), restaurant projects, automotive dealerships, and industrial facilities, delivered for prominent clients and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

Lead project delivery from planning and documentation through construction and close-out

Coordinate internal teams and manage multiple projects concurrently

Meet with clients to confirm scope, requirements, and deliverables

Coordinate and liaise with consultants, contractors, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs)

Review and approve shop drawings and consultant submissions

Conduct routine site visits and provide construction review updates

Manage contract administration, including RFIs and field instructions

Review and approve internal and consultant proposals and budgets

Perform building code reviews and support permitting processes

Review working drawings and permit sets; resolve coordination issues as required

Prepare occasional design sketches and 3D concepts when needed
Qualifications

Professional degree in Architecture, Architectural Science, or Architectural Technology

15–20 years of relevant experience, with strong experience in either commercial projects or industrial projects (or both)

Strong knowledge of building codes, construction standards, building science, and detailing

Demonstrated ability to supervise the production and delivery of multiple projects simultaneously

Proven leadership and team management capability

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Professional confidence engaging with clients, consultants, contractors, and senior leadership
Compensation and Benefits

Salary: $120,000 – $150,000
