We’re working with an established Toronto architecture and design studio known for creating thoughtful, highly detailed spaces across hospitality, commercial, retail and mixed-use projects. Their work is design-forward and contemporary, with a strong focus on materiality, creative concepts and how people experience and interact with spaces.
The studio is growing and looking for an Intermediate Interior Designer to join its collaborative team. This is a great opportunity for a designer who wants to be involved throughout the full project lifecycle, contribute creatively, and continue developing their design and technical skills while working alongside an experienced team.
THE ROLE
Working closely with senior designers and project leads, you’ll be involved in projects from concept through construction, including:
- Contributing to concept design, space planning and design development
- Preparing presentation materials, design packages and material selections
- Developing design details and translating concepts into well-resolved solutions
- Producing and coordinating construction drawings and documentation
- Creating drawings and models using Revit, AutoCAD and SketchUp
- Coordinating with consultants, suppliers and contractors
- Supporting projects through tender and construction
- Participating in site reviews and helping resolve design and construction issues
- Researching materials, products and technical requirements
- Helping maintain design intent as projects move from concept into construction
- Managing your own deliverables and deadlines while collaborating closely with the broader project team
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
- 5+ years of professional interior design or architecture experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design or Architecture
- Experience working on hospitality and/or commercial interior projects
- Strong design sensibility and an eye for materials, detailing and finishes
- Experience with design development and construction documentation
- Understanding of how projects move from concept through construction
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD and SketchUp
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to coordinate effectively with project teams, consultants and contractors
- Comfortable working independently while also being an active part of a collaborative studio environment
- Motivated to continue developing both creatively and technically
