An established interior design studio is seeking a Senior Interior Designer to lead multi-unit residential projects, including high-rise developments and purpose-built rental buildings.
With more than 40 years in business, the firm has built longstanding relationships with developers and a loyal team. This is an opportunity to work closely with the principals, take ownership of projects, and potentially grow into a future principal or partnership role.
The Opportunity
You’ll guide projects from initial planning and concept development through construction documentation, implementation, and final installation.
Working directly with clients and alongside the principals, you’ll develop design solutions that respond to each project’s goals, budget, and practical requirements. You’ll stay involved throughout delivery, providing direction to an experienced CAD team and reviewing their work to ensure the design intent carries through.
This is a hands-on design leadership role within a small, collaborative studio. You’ll balance several projects at different stages, shifting priorities as needed and helping the team move work forward.
What You’ll Do
- Lead programming, space planning, concept development, and design development for multi-unit residential interiors.
- Develop the overall look and feel of projects, including material palettes, finishes, and interior details.
- Build trusted client relationships and serve as a key contact throughout the project.
- Communicate design intent through sketches, markups, presentations, and clear direction to the technical team.
- Coordinate with the technical lead on project timelines, drawing requirements, and deliverables.
- Review drawing packages for accuracy, coordination, and alignment with the approved design.
- Remain involved through construction administration, including shop drawing reviews, site visits, and resolving design questions.
- Collaborate with the principals on FF&E selections, styling, and installations.
- Manage competing priorities across multiple active projects.
- Share knowledge and provide practical guidance to colleagues.
What You Bring
- Demonstrated experience delivering multi-unit residential interior design projects.
- 10 + years experience and an established track record in a senior design role, ideally including 4-5 years leading projects and client relationships.
- Strong creative judgment, space planning skills, and attention to interior detailing.
- Experience carrying projects from concept through construction and completion.
- The ability to communicate design ideas clearly through hand sketches or CAD
- Confidence directing technical staff and reviewing construction documentation.
- Strong organization and the flexibility to move between projects at different stages.
- A calm, practical approach to challenges and a collaborative working style.
- ARIDO registration is an asset.

Salary: $110,000–$120,000, depending on experience.
