As a Senior Architect, you will play a vital role in our dynamic design team, collaborating to develop solutions that align with the context, budget, and aesthetic requirements of justice-related architectural projects. This role offers opportunities to engage with other professional disciplines, leading the coordination of design throughout all project phases.

Duties and Responsibilities:

In this role, you will compile information from reports and published documents, evaluating and analyzing to understand broad project requirements. You will develop architectural designs that ensure exemplary solutions, meeting quality parameters, project timelines, and budgetary requirements. Coordinating design intent with other disciplines, you will integrate engineering requirements, site surveys, and field review information, adhering to applicable codes and jurisdictional requirements.

Preparing design reports, drawings, and models following office standards, you will conduct site visitations to determine compliance with construction documents. Identifying and liaising with owners and contractors to resolve issues promptly, you will review project products, services, and shop drawings, ensuring adherence to project documents, relevant jurisdictional codes, and corporate quality controls.

Beyond design, you will lead client meetings, providing a key interface between our team and project stakeholders.

Your leadership extends to mentoring team members, sharing your expertise to elevate the capabilities of the entire team As a leader, you will also contribute to the strategic vision and direction of justice-related projects.

Required Skills and Experience:

Experience in all phases of the project cycle is essential with a strong focus on Design.

Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, PhotoShop, and other relevant tools, is required. 

Familiarity with MEP and Structural building systems, along with a strong understanding of building codes, is essential. Successful completion of related post-secondary education and registration with OAA is an asset. 

A minimum of 10 years of project work experience, with specific experience in public sector projects.
