An established, employee-owned architecture and engineering firm is seeking a Contract Administrator to support the delivery of complex Justice sector projects, including courthouses, police facilities, and correctional centres.
These projects require a high level of technical rigour, coordination, and accountability throughout construction. This role is focused on ensuring that project delivery aligns with contract documents, regulatory requirements, and client expectations.
As Contract Administrator, you will play a key role during the construction phase of projects. You will monitor site progress, review documentation, provide technical interpretation, and coordinate with contractors, consultants, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
This position is well suited to a senior-level professional who is confident on site, detail-oriented, and experienced in managing the complexities of construction administration for institutional or large-scale commercial projects.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular site visits to review construction progress and assess compliance with contract documents, building codes, and safety requirements
- Prepare detailed site reports, document deficiencies, and support timely resolution of issues
- Review and track shop drawings, samples, schedules, progress claims, and change documentation
- Provide technical clarification and interpretation of drawings and specifications during construction
- Coordinate with contractors, sub-consultants, clients, and authorities to resolve site and constructability issues
- Prepare project change documentation, including supplementary sketches and drawings as required
- Attend and lead project progress meetings throughout construction
- Support project close-out by ensuring all required documentation is complete and distributed
- Provide constructability feedback to internal design and technical teams
Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant project experience, including significant involvement in contract administration
- Strong understanding of architectural, structural, and MEP systems, along with applicable building codes
- Experience managing construction documentation, contract changes, progress payments, and consultant coordination
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across project teams
- Sound judgment, leadership ability, and problem-solving skills in a construction environment
- Registration with a relevant professional association is an asset
- Experience with Justice sector projects is considered an asset

Compensation: $90,000 – $125,000 + Bonus + RRSP Match
