The role is well suited to an experienced Architect who is interested in contributing to meaningful institutional work and participating throughout the full project lifecycle.

The Role

As an Architect, you will work collaboratively with members of the design team to develop design solutions that respond to project context, budget, technical requirements, and overall design intent. You will coordinate closely with consultants and other disciplines and support project delivery through all phases, from early design to construction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile and review information from reports, studies, and published documents in order to understand project requirements
  • Develop architectural design solutions that meet project objectives, quality standards, timelines, and budget parameters
  • Coordinate design intent with internal teams and external consultants across multiple disciplines
  • Incorporate engineering requirements, site conditions, and field review information into the design process
  • Prepare design reports, drawings, and models in accordance with office standards
  • Conduct site visits to review construction progress and confirm compliance with contract documents
  • Identify deficiencies or deviations in the field and work with owners and contractors to resolve issues promptly
  • Review shop drawings, project materials, and related documentation for compliance with design intent, codes, and quality standards

Qualifications

  • 10–15 years of professional experience in architectural project work
  • Experience across all phases of the project lifecycle is required
  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Photoshop, and related architectural design software
  • Strong understanding of MEP and structural building systems
  • Solid knowledge of applicable building codes and jurisdictional requirements
  • Completion of a related post-secondary education program
  • Registration with OAA n is considered an asset
  • Previous experience in education projects  required

This role is best suited to an Architect who combines strong design capability with technical rigour and sound professional judgment. The successful candidate will be comfortable working collaboratively, coordinating complex information, and contributing meaningfully to the delivery of high-quality education projects.

Salary range: $80,000 – $115,000 annually
