Job Description

Join an award-winning Toronto architecture and interior design practice known for creating thoughtful, engaging environments for education, culture and community.

This is an opportunity for an experienced AEC proposal professional to take ownership of the firm’s proposals and pursuits function. Working closely with the principals, architects and designers, you will lead submissions from start to finish and help communicate the firm’s experience, ideas and distinct approach to design.

The role is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on, can manage complex deadlines independently and knows how to turn technical information into clear, compelling content.

The Role

Proposal development will be the primary focus of the position. You will oversee the full proposal process, from identifying opportunities and reviewing requirements through content development, coordination, design, production and final submission.

As the firm’s dedicated marketing professional, you will also support selected communications, awards, media and digital initiatives.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead RFP, RFQ and proposal submissions from start to finish
  • Review submission requirements and develop proposal schedules, outlines and compliance documents
  • Coordinate input from principals, project teams, consultants and external collaborators
  • Write, edit and tailor content to clearly communicate the firm’s experience and approach
  • Develop pursuit strategies and position the firm for specific opportunities
  • Manage deadlines, reviews, approvals and final production
  • Monitor bid sites and identify relevant opportunities
  • Maintain proposal templates, project information, resumes and marketing content
  • Prepare award submissions and support media outreach
  • Coordinate photography and maintain the firm’s image database
  • Assist with website updates and social media content
  • Build strong working relationships across the firm and with external partners

What You Bring

  • At least six years of proposal, pursuits or marketing experience within architecture, engineering, construction or another professional design-services environment
  • Demonstrated experience independently managing complex proposals from initial review through final submission
  • Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills
  • Excellent organization and the ability to manage several competing deadlines
  • Sound judgment and the confidence to gather information from busy senior leaders and technical professionals
  • Strong understanding of the AEC proposal and procurement process
  • Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, particularly InDesign, and Microsoft Office
  • A degree in architecture, design, communications, writing, journalism or a related discipline
  • Strong graphic design and layout skills are an asset

The Right Fit

You are resourceful, organized and comfortable taking ownership. You understand that strong proposals require both compelling content and disciplined production.

You can work independently without losing sight of the larger pursuit strategy, and you know how to keep contributors engaged and submissions moving forward. You are also comfortable being the firm’s primary internal marketing resource and enjoy the variety that comes with working in a collaborative architectural practice.

Why Join?

You’ll join a respected, design-focused practice with a strong portfolio of educational, cultural and community projects. You will work directly with firm leadership, have meaningful ownership of the proposal process and help shape how the practice presents itself and pursues future work.

The firm offers a friendly and collaborative studio culture, competitive benefits and summer hours
