The Role

You will guide design from project outset through to construction, balancing technical expertise, creative leadership, and team collaboration. Depending on experience and project needs, you may take on project-specific responsibilities such as Project Manager, Project Coordinator, or BIM Lead.

What You’ll Do

Project Leadership

  • Lead project delivery, including research, analysis, and recommendations to resolve design, technical, and constructability issues

  • Manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining quality, schedule, and client satisfaction

  • Represent the studio at site meetings, providing leadership, technical guidance, and mentorship to junior staff

  • Oversee code compliance, quality assurance, and constructability through all phases

  • Prepare and coordinate design development and construction documents, including drawings, models, specifications, diagrams, reports, and presentation materials

  • Manage scope, deliverables, schedules, fees, and budgets

  • Review and coordinate consultant work to ensure accurate, integrated documents aligned with design intent

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate project phases, ensuring milestones and objectives are achieved

  • Maintain design continuity from concept through construction documentation

  • Identify and analyze problems, evaluate alternatives, and resolve issues independently

  • Perform thorough contract administration to ensure compliance with project requirements and professional standards

Team + Client Leadership

  • Provide exceptional client service by responding proactively and resolving issues in a timely, professional manner

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, and internal teams

  • Liaise with senior leadership and project leadership as required

  • Inspire and motivate junior staff through meaningful challenges, skill development, and recognition

  • Serve as a role model through strong professional conduct, integrity, and consistently high-quality work

  • Manage direct reports to ensure work is allocated well, completed accurately, and delivered on time

  • Delegate effectively and oversee team performance and success

  • Address and solve interpersonal and teamwork issues in collaboration with senior leadership as required

  • Lead and participate in team meetings to coordinate ideas, explore options, and keep alignment across the team

What You Bring

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in an architectural or interior design practice

  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design from a recognized institution

  • Licensed with ARIDO (ARIDO and/or NCIDQ)

  • Experience working with Authorities Having Jurisdiction, including building permit applications and Committee of Adjustment

  • Revit experience is an asset

  • Newforma experience is an asset

  • Strong Enscape skills and comfort with other 3D modeling software
