Senior Interior Designer – Hospitality

Viewed 0 times

Job Description

Our client is an internationally recognized interior design studio delivering high end hospitality projects across luxury hotels, resorts, restaurants, and residential developments. Their work is defined by a strong design point of view, technical precision, and a commitment to creating thoughtful, experience-driven environments.

They are seeking a Senior Interior Designer to join their Toronto studio, someone who brings both design strength and technical confidence, and is ready to contribute meaningfully across all phases of a project.

Why This Role

The studio is known for recognizing where designers do their best work and giving them space to lean into it. Whether your strength is spatial planning, materials, detailing, or documentation, you will have the opportunity to develop that expertise while still growing across the full project lifecycle.

You’ll be part of a team that values strong ideas, thoughtful execution, and collaboration—where design is taken seriously, and so is how it gets built.

Role Overview

The Senior Interior Designer will play a key role in the delivery of complex, design driven hospitality projects, contributing from concept through construction. Working closely with the Design Director and Project Leader, this role balances creative input with technical execution, while also supporting team coordination and mentoring junior designers.

Key Responsibilities

Design Development

  • Contribute to design concepts, spatial planning, and material strategies across all phases
  • Lead the development of key project components such as guestrooms, public areas, and FF&E packages
  • Prepare presentations including drawings, renderings, and material boards

Technical Execution & Project Delivery

  • Produce and coordinate detailed drawing sets, specifications, and schedules
  • Ensure quality, accuracy, and consistency across all deliverables
  • Coordinate with consultants, vendors, and internal teams
  • Participate in construction administration, including shop drawing reviews and RFIs

Team Collaboration & Mentorship

  • Support and mentor junior and intermediate designers
  • Assist in coordinating team workflow and deliverables
  • Lead focused workstreams based on project needs and individual strengths

Client & Consultant Coordination

  • Support client presentations and ongoing communication
  • Coordinate with external consultants and partners
  • Contribute to maintaining clear, organized project communication

Qualifications

  • 7–11 years of professional experience in interior design
  • Strong project experience in hospitality, residential, or commercial sectors
  • Degree in Interior Design or Architecture
  • Experience across all project phases, from concept to construction documentation
  • Strong understanding of construction detailing and material applications
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with Rhino and/or Revit is an asset
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary consultant teams

This role is best suited for a designer who combines strong design thinking with solid execution—someone who takes ownership, works well across teams, and stays organized under pressure. You’re detail-oriented, reliable, and motivated to keep growing in both your strengths and new areas.
