Job Description

We’re working with one of the most internationally respected names in design to find a Project Manager for its Toronto studio. The firm’s portfolio spans luxury hotels, restaurants, retail, and residential spaces around the world.

If you’ve built your career in interior design or architecture and enjoy turning ambitious design into completed spaces, this is an opportunity to bring that experience to a studio where quality and detail matter.

You’ll work alongside talented design leaders, keeping projects moving, managing the financial picture, and making sure the right conversations happen at the right time. You’ll need to be comfortable reviewing drawings, discussing fees, coordinating consultants, and working through issues on site.

Ideally, you’ll bring exposure to luxury hospitality projects and understand the care and coordination required to deliver them.

The studio also offers a four-day workweek, with Fridays off at full pay, company-paid benefits, and a two-week holiday closure.

Your role

You’ll manage multiple projects from concept through construction, providing the structure and coordination that allow the design team to do its best work.

  • Build realistic project schedules and workplans, keeping milestones, resources, and deliverables aligned.
  • Review contracts and scope, flag risks early, and guide the transition from business development to the project team.
  • Work with design leaders to plan staffing and manage competing priorities.
  • Keep project financials accurate, including fees, billable hours, billing projections, and revenue forecasts.
  • Collaborate on preliminary furniture, fixtures, and equipment budgets.
  • Be a clear, reliable point of coordination for clients, consultants, contractors, vendors, and internal specialist teams.
  • Review drawings and documentation for quality, coordination, and constructability.
  • Help resolve budget and construction challenges while protecting the design intent.
  • Oversee shop drawings, samples, submittals, and responses to requests for information.
  • Identify changes in scope and prepare additional service authorizations and change orders.
  • Conduct site visits, mock-up reviews, and factory inspections, then follow through with clear reports and punch lists.
  • Share your experience with junior team members and help strengthen project delivery across the studio.

International travel is required approximately 2–3 times per year.

What you bring

  • 10+ years of experience in interior design or architecture, including 3–5 years in project management within an Interior Design or Architecture firm.
  • Ideally, exposure to luxury hospitality projects.
  • Experience taking projects through all phases, from concept to construction administration.
  • Strong technical judgment and confidence reviewing drawings and construction documentation.
  • A solid understanding of project budgets, fee structures, billable hours, and financial forecasting.
  • Experience coordinating consultants, contractors, and vendors, including pricing, procurement, and contract administration.
  • The ability to anticipate problems, make sound decisions, and keep several projects moving without losing sight of the details.
  • Clear communication and confidence managing client and project team relationships.
  • A degree or diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with scheduling and project management software. AutoCAD, Revit, or similar design software is an asset.

What’s offered

  • Competitive salary.
  • Four-day workweek
  • Flexible working hours (4 in office days/week)
  • Two-week studio closure over the holidays.
  • Benefits paid 100% by the company.
  • Employer RRSP contribution.
  • The opportunity to work alongside accomplished designers on internationally recognized projects.
  • A collaborative studio with opportunities to grow and develop.
