A distinguished and globally recognized design studio is seeking an Intermediate Project manager to oversee high profile hospitality projects, including hotels, resorts, private membership clubs, and restaurants. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a passion for exceptional design execution, strong project leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate across disciplines.
The Project Manager is responsible for leading projects through all phases, from planning and design development to construction documentation and completion, ensuring alignment with creative vision, project scope, and budget. The role involves coordinating internal teams, consultants, and contractors while maintaining the highest standards of design quality and technical accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Leadership – Oversee all aspects of project management, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning, ensuring seamless execution from concept to completion.
- Design Coordination – Maintain design integrity while collaborating with contractors, structural and MEP engineers, and consultants to ensure project success.
- Construction Documentation & Administration – Review and coordinate drawing packages, specifications, RFIs, shop drawings, and site instructions.
- Revit Proficiency – While drafting is not the primary responsibility, the ability to produce drawings when required is essential (Revit is used on more than 50% of projects).
- Quality Control & Risk Management – Ensure all project deliverables meet building codes, industry standards, and client expectations.
- Client & Consultant Relations – Serve as the primary consultant contact, managing coordination and communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of experience in interior design project management, preferably in hospitality or multi-unit residential projects.
- Interior Design Diploma (or equivalent). Architectural backgrounds considered, but interior design experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD (SketchUp is an asset).
- Strong understanding of Ontario Building Code (OBC) and accessibility standards (IBI, ADA, Barrier-Free).
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing scope, budget, and timelines effectively.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with experience mentoring junior team members.
