Job Description

Joined a specialized building consulting, design, and brand identity firm with a strong focus on automotive retail network design and customer experience. With extensive experience in the automotive sector, they support some of the world’s most recognized brands through the delivery of consistent, high-quality retail environments across Canada.

They are currently seeking an experienced Bilingual Architectural Designer to join their team. The Architectural Designer will work closely with the design production team and will be responsible for managing assigned projects from concept development through design documentation. This role requires a strong design background, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and implement national specifications for automotive retail corporate image programs in both English and French
  • Prepare, review, and update design documents during schematic design and design development phases
  • Produce conceptual design ideas and prepare 2D and 3D presentation and design drawings using Revit, Lumion, Photoshop, and related digital tools
  • Prepare or oversee the preparation of drawings, specifications, and other construction documents by the production team
  • Review and comment on design and technical documents prepared by franchise owners’ consultants, including local architects and engineers
  • Support client teams throughout the construction phase
  • Travel to project sites across Canada, as required, to monitor project progress and support project completion
  • Collaborate closely with internal design teams to meet project objectives, manage expectations, and support consultant coordination
  • Assist in the coordination and review of technical work completed by junior or intermediate team members, providing guidance and mentorship where needed
  • Prepare summary reports on design and technical submissions in a timely and organized manner

Qualifications

  • Bilingual proficiency in Quebecois French and Canadian English is required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of design experience within retail, architecture, or multidisciplinary design practice
  • Quebec-based project experience is strongly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian and provincial building code standards
  • Demonstrated experience managing project timelines, stakeholder expectations, and competing priorities
  • Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
  • Experience with Lumion or other 3D modelling and rendering software is considered an asset
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, deadline-driven environment
  • Professional, proactive, and design-focused approach to project delivery
  • This role includes approximately 15% travel within Canada
  • The position is best suited to a designer who is comfortable balancing design development, technical review, client communication, and internal coordination
