We’re seeking a Technical Lead to champion excellence in documentation, quality, and production standards across our studio.
This newly created role bridges design intent and constructability, supporting multiple project teams, mentoring staff, and shaping the firm’s technical direction as we continue to expand our Revit capabilities.
As the Technical Lead, you’ll be a “floater” leader who provides guidance, oversight, and consistency across multiple client groups. You’ll work closely with Project Managers and Design Leads to improve efficiency, accuracy, and quality across all deliverables. This position reports to the VP of Design and Delivery.
What You’ll Do
Technical Leadership
Provide firm-wide technical guidance and production leadership across multiple active projects.
Establish and maintain Revit standards, templates, and BIM protocols as we expand Revit use over the next several years.
Conduct QA/QC reviews to ensure accuracy, coordination, and alignment with design intent.
Troubleshoot detailing and constructability challenges in collaboration with consultants and contractors.
Support Project Managers in planning technical resources and delivery strategies.
Mentorship & Knowledge Development
Coach and mentor Technologists and Designers, building technical depth and production efficiency across teams.
Deliver Revit and BIM training sessions and strengthen best practices in modeling and documentation.
Help shape a more structured mentorship framework, transforming our organic culture of knowledge-sharing into a more consistent learning environment.
Process & Quality Improvement
Lead initiatives to streamline workflows, reduce rework, and enhance coordination between teams.
Conduct post-project technical reviews and help formalize QA/QC processes.
Champion continuous improvement across documentation and delivery.
Collaboration & Innovation
Partner with Project Managers and Design Leads to align constructability with design excellence.
Float among different client groups, offering proactive technical oversight and guidance.
Explore new digital tools, sustainability strategies, and documentation innovations to keep the studio ahead of industry standards.
What You Bring
8–10 years of progressive experience in architectural technical delivery and documentation.
Advanced proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and BIM environments.
Strong knowledge of Canadian building codes, assemblies, and detailing standards.
Proven experience leading QA/QC reviews and implementing firm-wide technical standards.
Diploma or Degree in Architecture or Architectural Technology.
Collaborative, patient, and approachable, with a genuine interest in mentoring and helping others grow.
