Job Description

As a Senior Architectural Technologist, you’ll apply your knowledge of construction detailing, building materials, and building codes to transform conceptual designs into clear, buildable construction documents. Working closely with architects, engineers, and consultants, you’ll ensure the technical integrity of the design throughout all project phases—balancing constructability, compliance, and design intent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed technical designs and architectural drawings that meet project standards, timelines, and budgets.

  • Support design development with programming, code analysis, materials and systems research, and layout planning.

  • Conduct site evaluations and field surveys to inform project development.

  • Review shop drawings, project submittals, and construction documentation.

  • Prepare and manage permit response letters; coordinate revisions with consultants and engineers.

  • Liaise with contractors, authorities, and sub-consultants to resolve construction challenges and address owner feedback.

  • Maintain compliance with applicable codes, standards, and quality control procedures.

What you bring 

  • 10+ years of architectural experience, ideally including transit or transportation projects.

  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and related architectural design software.

  • Strong knowledge of MEP and structural systems, construction technologies, and building codes.

  • Post-secondary education in Architecture or a related field.

  • Registration with OAA is an asset.

  • Ability to produce clear, coordinated construction documents and solve technical issues with minimal supervision.
