We’re recruiting for a well-established, employee-owned architecture and engineering firm with a strong national and international presence. Their Public studio works on complex, high-profile projects including government facilities, civic buildings, cultural institutions, museums and other significant public-sector environments.

This is an opportunity for an experienced Architect to join a collaborative multidisciplinary team and contribute to projects that have a lasting impact on communities.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical and project delivery experience, understands how to coordinate complex projects across disciplines, and is comfortable working through all phases from design development through construction.

The Role

As a Senior Architect, you will work closely with architects, designers, engineers and consultants to develop and deliver architectural solutions that respond to the project context, program, budget and technical requirements.

You will be involved throughout the project cycle, helping coordinate design intent, technical requirements and construction documentation while maintaining a high standard of quality.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Develop and coordinate architectural designs for complex projects
  • Review project requirements, reports and technical information to inform design solutions
  • Coordinate architectural work with structural, mechanical, electrical and other disciplines
  • Integrate engineering requirements, site information and field review findings into the design
  • Prepare and review drawings, models, reports and construction documentation
  • Ensure projects meet applicable building codes, jurisdictional requirements and internal quality standards
  • Participate in site reviews and identify and resolve issues during construction
  • Review shop drawings, products and materials for compliance with project documents
  • Work closely with clients, consultants, contractors and internal project teams throughout the project lifecycle
  • Help maintain design quality, technical accuracy, project schedules and budgets

What We’re Looking For

  • 15+ years of architectural project experience
  • Strong experience across multiple phases of the project lifecycle
  • Experience delivering complex institutional, government or public-sector projects is a strong asset
  • Strong knowledge of building codes and construction practices
  • Good understanding of structural, mechanical and electrical building systems
  • Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD; experience with SketchUp, Photoshop and other architectural design software is an asset
  • Degree or diploma in Architecture or a related discipline
  • Architectural registration is an asset
  • Strong coordination, communication and problem-solving skills
  • Bilingual (English – French) an asset
  • Ability to obtain Secret-level security clearance is required

Salary: $105,000–$140,000 annually
