We’re seeking a Studio Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of a mid-sized interior design studio and support the leadership team in maintaining an organized, efficient, and inspiring work environment.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, design-driven atmosphere and enjoys wearing many hats — from HR coordination and technology oversight to cultural leadership and administrative management.
What You’ll Do
Studio & Administrative Operations
Oversee day-to-day studio operations and administration, ensuring smooth workflow and exceptional organization.
Support senior leadership and management with scheduling, coordination, and administrative tasks.
Supervise and mentor administrative staff to ensure front-of-house operations reflect professional standards.
Coordinate team-building events, office maintenance, and vendor relationships.
Partner with marketing and communications teams for in-studio updates and announcements.
Human Resources & Culture
Maintain and update employee policies, handbooks, and contracts with external HR/legal support as needed.
Coordinate onboarding, performance reviews, and professional development tracking.
Manage vacation requests, lieu time, and staff scheduling.
Support recruitment efforts, including liaising with recruiters and coordinating interviews.
Champion studio culture by fostering a positive, inclusive, and professional environment.
Technology & IT Coordination
Liaise with IT consultants to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
Oversee software licensing, hardware maintenance, and system upgrades.
Ensure the studio’s technology infrastructure supports efficient and secure workflows.
Finance & Administration Support
Assist with vendor invoice entry, credit card reconciliation, and basic bookkeeping tasks.
Coordinate renewals for professional memberships and affiliations.
Manage building security systems, access fobs, and office equipment leases.
What You Bring
Minimum 5 years of experience in operations and administrative support, ideally within a design, architecture, real estate, or hospitality firm.
Post-secondary education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven knowledge of HR best practices and the Employment Standards Act.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and comfort with modern technology.
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional, approachable demeanor.
A proactive, resourceful attitude — able to anticipate needs and find solutions independently.
