Job Description

We are seeking a senior Project Manager, Architecture to lead complex industrial and manufacturing projects with construction values ranging from $40M to $500M.

This is a hybrid role based out of the Toronto or Kitchener office, with regular travel to client offices and project sites across Southwestern Ontario.

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall leadership and delivery of architectural-prime projects from early planning through construction and closeout. This role requires strong technical judgment, sound project management practices, and the ability to represent the firm in day-to-day project matters.

You will be entrusted with managing scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk on large-scale projects while leading multidisciplinary teams and maintaining strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership and Delivery

  • Lead the delivery of large-scale industrial and manufacturing projects across all phases.

  • Direct architectural design, technical development, and documentation (SD, DD, Tender, IFC).

  • Coordinate internal architecture and engineering teams and external consultants.

  • Manage AHJ submissions, approvals, and reviews.

  • Ensure documentation quality, constructability, and coordination.

  • Lead QA/QC processes and resolve technical issues proactively.

Contract Administration

  • Administer construction contracts under applicable legislation and CCDC forms (2, 5A/B, 14, 30).

  • Serve as the primary contact for RFIs, submittals, site reviews, changes, and field reports.

  • Review payment applications and manage project closeout and certification.

Project and Financial Management

  • Develop and manage schedules, work plans, staffing strategies, and financial forecasts.

  • Monitor performance and risk on projects valued between $40M and $500M.

  • Coordinate invoicing and financial reporting with accounting.

Client and Team Leadership

  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships.

  • Support business development activities, including proposals and interviews.

  • Lead internal project teams and mentor staff.

  • Contribute to practice standards and continuous improvement.

  • Progress into a team leadership role with responsibility for coaching and staff development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Architecture or a related field.

  • Minimum 10 years of experience managing complex, multi-disciplinary projects.

  • Experience with industrial and manufacturing projects strongly preferred.

  • Proven experience delivering large, capital-intensive projects.

  • Strong knowledge of Canadian and Ontario codes and standards.

  • Demonstrated experience in contract administration and client-facing delivery.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle.

  • Willingness to travel across Southwestern Ontario several times per week.

  • PMP certification and OAA licensure are assets.
