Architectural Designer – Interior Projects

Viewed 0 times

Job Description

We are a mid-sized, design-driven architecture and urbanism studio rooted in the culture of contemporary city-building. Our portfolio spans well-crafted interiors, hospitality spaces, large-scale redevelopments, and everything in between—always with a deep commitment to detail, material expression, and contextual storytelling.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking an Architectural Designer who brings strong architectural training with a particular passion and experience in interior projects. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of architecture and interior design, and who is eager to shape environments that are immersive, expressive, and rooted in place.

What We’re Looking For

We are especially interested in architectural candidates who bring a strong portfolio of interior work, from hospitality and commercial interiors to innovative space planning and detailing. You’ll be an integral part of our creative team, contributing to every phase of a project from concept through construction, while mentoring junior designers and collaborating closely with clients and consultants.

As an Architectural Designer, you’ll lead design and documentation for interior-focused projects, ensure technical rigour and design continuity, and support our Associates in delivering thoughtful, context-driven work.

This is an in-studio position in our Toronto office. Remote work is not available for this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of design concepts, space planning, detailing, and presentation materials

  • Guide projects through design development, construction documentation, and contract administration

  • Maintain a strong connection between concept and built form throughout all phases

  • Research and resolve technical/design issues, and help translate design intent into detailed, buildable solutions

Project Oversight

  • Coordinate internal project deliverables in collaboration with Associates

  • Oversee the implementation of project phases and ensure adherence to schedules and design goals

  • Participate in client meetings and coordinate with consultants, contractors, and suppliers

Technical & Construction

  • Lead the production of high-quality architectural and interior documentation in Revit

  • Conduct field reviews and manage contract administration alongside the project team

  • Address site issues with contractors and ensure construction aligns with design intent

  • Analyze and apply building codes, by-laws, and technical standards as applicable

Studio Mentorship

  • Provide guidance and quality review for work produced by junior team members

  • Foster a collaborative and creative studio environment

  • Model best practices in documentation, detailing, and project coordination.

Qualifications:

  • Professional degree in Architecture (Bachelor’s or Master’s)

  • Minimum 5 years of post-graduate experience with a focus on interior design projects

  • Demonstrated experience in hospitality, commercial, and interior architectural projects

  • Strong space planning and design detailing skills

  • Proficiency in Revit is required

  • Strong knowledge of the Ontario Building Code and municipal approvals processes

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • Experience in all phases of design and construction.

Why Join Us?

You’ll be part of a team that’s deeply passionate about design, urban culture, and the craft of architecture. We offer a supportive, collaborative studio environment where senior team members play a key role in shaping the firm’s creative output and mentoring the next generation of designers.
