Architect/Senior Technologist – Retail

Job Description

We are seeking a senior-level professional to lead retail banking projects from initial client discussions through construction completion. This role is suited to a experienced Architect or Senior Architectural Technologist who can take full ownership of multiple projects running concurrently, with responsibility for design coordination, technical delivery, consultant management, client leadership, and construction-phase support.

Projects include new builds as well as renovations, alterations, and interior fit-outs. Most projects are located in Toronto and require regular site attendance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead projects from early planning and concept through construction and close-out

  • Manage several projects simultaneously, maintaining control of scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables

  • Act as the primary client contact, guiding decisions and maintaining strong working relationships

  • Direct and review production of drawing sets in Revit, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and quality

  • Lead coordination with structural, civil, mechanical, and electrical consultants

  • Provide strong technical oversight in building science, detailing, constructability, and building code compliance

  • Oversee contract administration, including site visits, RFIs, change management, and deficiency review

  • Mentor and guide intermediate and junior team members

  • Work closely with Principals on resourcing, project planning, and quality control

Qualifications and Experience

  • Senior-level experience delivering commercial projects

  • Architect or Senior Architectural Technologist with extensive project leadership experience

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently from start to finish

  • Advanced proficiency in Revit (required)

  • Strong knowledge of building codes, construction detailing, and building science

  • Proven experience coordinating civil, structural, and MEP consultants

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and client management skills

  • Ability to attend Toronto-area project sites as required

Compensation: $90,000 – $110,000

Hybrid work environment (3-4 days in office)
