Are you an experienced Contract Administrator who enjoys being on-site, solving complex construction challenges, and seeing projects successfully built from the ground up?
We’re looking for a Senior Contract Administrator to join a growing Public sector team within a globally recognized architecture and engineering firm. This is a site-based role requiring attendance on project sites five days per week during active construction.
The Public team delivers a diverse portfolio that includes government facilities, embassies, museums, cultural institutions, civic buildings, transportation infrastructure, educational facilities, courthouses, and other institutional developments that serve communities across Canada.
In this role, you’ll work closely with owners, contractors, consultants, and project teams to ensure projects are delivered in accordance with the contract documents, design intent, and applicable building codes. You’ll play a key role in maintaining quality, resolving issues in the field, and supporting successful project outcomes.
What You’ll Do
Construction Administration
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress and verify compliance with contract documents, building codes, and safety requirements
- Prepare detailed site reports documenting progress, deficiencies, and recommendations
- Work closely with contractors, owners, consultants, and authorities having jurisdiction to resolve construction issues efficiently
- Provide technical interpretations, clarifications, and recommendations throughout the construction process
- Review and track shop drawings, product submissions, schedules, samples, progress payments, alternate requests, and project documentation
- Monitor construction activities and identify potential risks, deficiencies, or deviations from the contract documents
Project Coordination
- Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders to address constructability challenges and project concerns
- Review, prepare, and manage project change documentation, including supplemental instructions, sketches, site instructions, and change directives
- Attend and lead construction progress meetings, documenting discussions and action items
- Liaise with owners, contractors, consultants, and building authorities to facilitate project delivery
- Support project teams by providing constructability feedback and technical recommendations
Project Closeout
- Support project completion and occupancy processes
- Ensure all closeout documentation, warranties, manuals, as-built information, and record documents are received and distributed appropriately
- Assist project teams with lessons learned and post-construction reviews
- Help ensure a smooth transition from construction to occupancy
What You’ll Bring
- Degree or diploma in Architecture, Architectural Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline
- 10+ years of experience in construction administration, contract administration, or project delivery
- Experience working on public sector projects such as government facilities, embassies, civic buildings, museums, cultural institutions, courthouses, educational facilities, transportation projects, and other institutional buildings
- Strong understanding of construction methods, contract administration procedures, permitting processes, and building codes
- Knowledge of architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical building systems
- Experience reviewing shop drawings, RFIs, change orders, payment certifications, and project closeout documentation
- Strong communication, negotiation, leadership, and problem-solving skills
- Experience in project management, client management, business development, or stakeholder coordination is considered an asset
- Registration with a relevant professional association is considered an asset
- Ability and willingness to work on construction sites five days per week during active project phases

Compensation: $90,000 – $125,000 annually + Bonus + RRSP Match
