Studio Manager (Toronto)

Award winning, internationally known, Interior Design firm with an expertise in hospitality design is currently looking for a Studio Manager.

This position is best suited for an experienced project manager and people manager who is passionate about delivering best results for clients and maintaining a great work environment for our employees. The purpose of this role is to drive and support project management plus studio effectiveness and efficiency including:

Major responsibilities:

  • Oversee overall studio project schedule, consisting of over 40 active projects in different phases
  • Leading the planning and implementation of project, including project resource allocation
  • Monitoring project hours (budget, usage, time sheet entries, contracts)
  • Outsource coordination and contract management
  • Managing project list (staying within budget, monitoring project phase projections against staff schedule and allocated hours)
  • Review employee projections against project reports
  • Review staff overtime weekly (make adjustments accordingly; monitor costs & task appropriateness)
  • Weekly review of project process with project leads, keeping on track of profitability and generating extra scopes as needed
  • Produce monthly project progress reports
  • Managing/updating allotted hours log for staff for all projects
  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs
  • Review current projects against completion dates and forecast pipeline and timing
  • Review internal methods and process to ensure efficient use of time and resources including development and utilization of technology for internal and external us

The right candidate for this role will have a  minimum of 10 years experience in the Design or Architecture industry. While you have an in depth understanding of the design process, your passion is in creating an engaging work environment for our studio that is effective and efficient. You have well developed process and analytical skills , well developed business acumen and a nurturing, positive, personality!
