Licensed Architect – Residential (Toronto)

We’re working on a great opportunity for an ambitious, highly-skilled, Licensed Architect  looking to take their residential design experience to the next level. Our client is well known for  providing architectural design guidance services for major developers in Ontario. This firm has a reputation for setting a high standard for the Development Industry, contributing to and implement community visions.

The Licensed Architect will be responsible for running the architectural practice which includes day-to-day guidance for the architectural team, be the primary lead in authoring architectural design guidance, implementing full scope architectural services, and business development for our client.

Taking advantage of your past leadership experience you will be responsible for leading a small team, coordinating with clients and other consulting disciplines and ensuring the continued ongoing development of both your own technical and professional skills as well as your team.

The qualified candidate should have excellent communication skills, be a self-starter, and have an approachable and engaging leadership style. In this role, you will also help the firm with establishing new business developments which will include dealing with clients directly from the initial phase of development to full completion of a project. For this position, good negotiation and client management skills is are a must!

Other qualifications the candidate should possess include:

  • Full membership of the OAA (Ontario Association of Architects),
  • Proven experience managing an architectural practice,
  • Highly design-oriented and have experience working on complex, multi-disciplinary projects, Possess strong technical construction and detailing knowledge, and a deep foundation in the preparation of working drawings
  • Familiarity with complex approval processes.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD.
