Junior BIM Coordinator / BIM Technologist

Our client is seeking a dynamic BIM Technologist to join the BIM Management team for an established and innovative architecture firm.

The ideal candidate will provide support in Revit and other technologies to the studio staff and will have a specific focus on the creation of Revit families.

As a BIM Technologist, you will be responsible for the creation of parametric Revit content under the direction of a senior team member. Day-to-day tasks will involve creating and updating of Revit families – fixtures, furniture, equipment, and title blocks. Maintaining content creation standards and updating the Revit project templates for various departments. 

You will assist in the management of the firm’s content library, develop procedural documents for content usage by posting it on the firm’s intranet. You will be in charge of providing training support in proper Revit family usage and standards to the firm’s design teams.

The suitable candidate should be an expert user of Revit modelling and possess overall mastery of the program. You should have thorough knowledge of Revit family creation and customization using 2D and 3D categories. It is essential to be comfortable working with shared and non-shared parameters in Revit projects, families and schedules. 

In addition, you will be a member of the Laser Scanning team responsible for conducting scans across Canada.

In terms of training and experience, the ideal candidate should be Certified CanBIM P2 level or up OR  be willing to be certified within 6 months. Knowledge of laser scanning, point cloud processing and registration using FARO Scene or ReCap would be an asset.

You should be a quick learner and display a keen interest in continuous learning of other design-related technologies. Advanced knowledge of BIM workflows in design and/or construction is required with an understanding on Advanced Revit modeling techniques.

Skills in generative design using Revit, Dynamom, and/or Grasshopper will be added bonuses.

You must possess good time management skills and have the ability to multitask between assigned tasks and Revit support requests. A G/G2 driver’s license is required.
