Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Site Supervisor to join our team. This newly created full-time position will involve overseeing the construction of luxury residential projects from concept through to completion. As a key member of our team, you will collaborate closely with architects and interior designers throughout the design process and the construction phase, ensuring the smooth execution of all aspects of the project.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in construction or a related field (Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Civil Engineering, or similar is preferred)
  • Background in carpentry is an asset
  • 10+ years of experience in the construction of high-end residential homes (experience in other building types is a plus)
  • Proven ability to lead and manage site progress from construction to completion
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills, with excellent time management and attention to detail
  • Deep understanding of construction methods and techniques, including all trades and suppliers
  • Familiarity with Workplace Health & Safety requirements and relevant provincial/federal legislation
  • Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, Zoning By-Laws, and construction safety regulations
  • Proficiency in using construction tools and equipment
  • Skilled in interpreting blueprints
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director of Construction in overseeing projects from concept to completion
  • Coordinate internal and external resources, ensuring projects remain on schedule, within scope, and on budget
  • Manage site operations from start to finish, overseeing daily activities on-site
  • Document and track all site activities, including arrivals, changes, instructions, and requests for information
  • Maintain high standards for quality of work and performance across all team members
  • Address potential risks and issues that could impact project budgets or timelines
  • Provide and implement solutions to mitigate risks and resolve challenges
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and trades to ensure a smooth workflow
  • Ensure a clean, professional, and safe work environment
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify and resolve safety hazards
  • Educate workers on safety regulations and protocols
  • Enforce safety rules to minimize accidents and injuries
  • Collaborate with the safety consultant to manage hazards and respond to incidents
  • Review blueprints to ensure adherence to design, safety, and budget specifications
  • Suggest improvements or cost-saving measures to enhance efficiency
  • Provide basic tools and general labor support as needed
