Job Description

Join a prestigious global architecture and engineering firm with a legacy spanning over 85 years, where design thinking is at the core of everything we do. With a team of 800 professionals across Canada, the US, UK, and UAE, we operate in 12 market sectors, pushing the boundaries of what’s possible to create innovative solutions that benefit both people and the planet.

We are seeking a highly skilled and creative Senior Interior Designer who is passionate about design and capable of managing projects from the initial programming phase to final implementation. In this role, you work directly with clients, develop design solutions, conduct research, and coordinate projects through all phases, with a particular focus on corporate projects.

Key Responsibilities:

You will be the primary point of contact for clients from the very beginning, developing strong relationships and deeply understanding their needs and vision. Your ability to listen, interpret, and translate their ideas into compelling design concepts is crucial. Presenting and selling your design concepts to clients will be a core aspect of your role, ensuring that each design is aligned with their goals and aspirations.

As you create impactful presentation boards, drawings, models, and renderings, you will ensure that these materials not only adhere to office standards but also resonate with clients, helping them visualize the final outcome and feel confident in the project’s direction.

Leading and managing projects from inception to completion, you will guide them through all phases—from initial client engagement and requirements gathering to final delivery and implementation. This includes conducting site surveys, feasibility studies, and developing concept design schematics that form the foundation of your projects.

You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure that the design intent is preserved throughout every stage of the project.

Your role will also involve performing in-depth research on materials, furniture systems, and design trends to develop innovative solutions that meet the project’s quality, timeline, and budget requirements.

You will oversee and mentor a team of designers, guiding them through the production and coordination of drawings to ensure their work aligns with project goals and meets client expectations. Along with your team, you will prepare and coordinate construction drawings using Revit, ensuring that all details are accurate and adhere to project standards, translating your design concepts into executable plans.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Photoshop, InDesign, and Microsoft programs.
  • Proven ability to manage projects from concept to completion, coordinating all phases of design, documentation, and construction.
  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Familiarity with Mechanical, Electrical, and Structural permits and building codes.
  • Strong project delivery, project management, and client management skills, with the ability to balance multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to sell design concepts to clients and manage client relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  • 7-10 years of project work experience in interior design, with a focus on corporate projects
  • Experience with furniture procurement – an asset

This is an incredible opportunity to work alongside respected leaders in the industry while gaining valuable experience across a variety of projects. If you are passionate about design, skilled in client engagement, and eager to make a lasting impact, we invite you to join our dynamic team.
