We are seeking a skilled AutoCAD Technologist to join our team. This full-time role is pivotal in supporting the design and construction teams by producing accurate technical drawings, permit sets, and construction documentation. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with designers and construction professionals to deliver projects of the highest quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with designers to create detailed drawings and plans.
- Prepare technical documents, working drawing sets, and permit submissions.
- Coordinate with designers to ensure design specifications are accurately translated into drawings.
- Develop construction documents, including floor plans, elevations, and sections.
- Conduct site visits to produce detailed and accurate site measurements.
- Revise and finalize drawings based on feedback from the Principal and Designers.
- Maintain organized project files and documentation.
- Identify and implement alternative solutions to project challenges.
Qualifications
- Technician or Technology Diploma/Degree or equivalent.
- 5+ years of experience in CAD drafting, with a strong emphasis on AutoCAD.
- Proficiency in interpreting architectural, interior design, electrical, and mechanical drawings.
- Familiarity with OBC and standard construction practices.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction methods.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word); Adobe software skills are an asset.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
