Our client is a well-known International Multi Disciplinary Studio specializing in unique award winning projects in the commercial/entertainment sector. We are currently looking for a Design Manager to join the Toronto Studio. As a key player in the studio the Design Manager will be responsible to encourage the team and its members to create high quality ‘big idea’ concepts, while guiding the development of design development and construction document packages to make sure they are aligned with the best practices and quality standards. 

You are a talented Design Architect who is passionate about creativity and design. Leading by example, you inspire the team and act as an advisor. You manage both internal management goals and meet client expectations of design and delivery. You are a strong communicator, both verbally and through design, to effectively oversee and/or assist the professional development of junior, intermediate and senior architecture staff.

You are an advocate for exceptional design who inspires creative thought. You enjoy mentoring and teaching staff on all areas of architecture from ideas to construction and construction administration. You have the knowledge to direct the production of architectural documentation, particularly construction drawings, construction details, construction materials and construction processes.

The ideal candidate for this position will hold a Bachelor or Masters degree in Architecture, be an OAA Licensed Architect or Intern Architect and have 15+ years of related progressive professional experience.

The right candidate will demonstrate familiarity and expertise in design and construction, specifically in Hospitality, Retail, Commercial and Mixed-Use program types and a firm understanding of space planning principles, particularly in hospitality and retail.
