As an Architectural Designer, you will contribute to the entire design process. You’ll collaborate closely with clients, senior management, and consultants to ensure projects run smoothly from the early design phase to the final handoff to production. You will conduct zoning reviews, ensure compliance with the OBC, and oversee the preparation of design packages. Additionally, you will be responsible for mentoring junior designers, and helping them grow professionally.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Leading the design process and ensuring all designs comply with zoning bylaws, OBC, and other applicable regulations.
Working on multiple projects, keeping them on schedule, within budget, and up to the firm’s standards.
Conducting zoning reviews to ensure all designs meet municipal and OBC requirements.
Collaborating with clients, senior management, and external consultants to ensure clear communication and project execution.
Preparing and handing over design packages to the Production Department.
Mentoring and supporting junior designers in their professional development.
Qualifications:
We’re looking for at least 4 years of relevant architectural experience in a firm. Strong hands-on experience with low-rise wood residential projects (townhouses, not just custom homes) and a solid understanding of zoning reviews, OBC, and construction methods. Experience working on site plans for townhouse communities is required.
