Job Description

Our client is a full-service architecture practice located in Toronto. With a corporate history dating back to 1980, the firm specializes in the design of supportive, community-focused environments, including seniors’ care and education facilities. Leadership, teamwork and innovation are the building blocks of our practice. We aim for mastery, but we call it a practice because we are constantly testing our limits as professionals and as a team. We invest in our people and empower them to research, test and share ideas that change the game altogether.

For this Contract Administrator position, we’re looking for a leader that has 10 years of Architectural experience, including Construction Administration.

As a Construction Administrator, you should have experience conducting site visits, leading site meetings and dealing with on-site issues. Our ideal candidate will have a thorough knowledge of construction techniques, enabling them to make decisions and solve problems confidently. In addition to preparing change orders, site instructions and reviewing shop drawings, our ideal candidate should also be comfortable with quality control of construction documents. Team collaboration is highly encouraged so our Construction Administrator must be enthusiastic about collaboration and mentorship of more junior members of the team.

The ideal candidate will ideally have previous experience working on large-scale complex projects in a Contract Administration or Project Management capacity.

This position is best suited for a proactive individual who likes to take initiative. The Construction Administrator is expected to regularly and proactively identify innovative ways to improve internal processes, procedures and practices.

Requirements for this role:

  • University degree or College diploma in architecture or construction
  • Minimum of 10 years of contract administration and field experience
  • Knowledge of the principles of project management in terms of scope, time, cost, quality and risk
  • Intermediate level Revit
  • Knowledge of the Ontario Building Code
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, both written and oral

We look forward to hearing from you. To be considered for this role, please APPLY
