Junior Project Manager (Toronto/Remote)

Our client is a bustling artist’s studio focused on creating one of kind artworks, wall treatments, 3 Dimensional installations, sculpture, and fine art. This team of talented professionals prides themselves on being artistic problem solvers with a multidisciplinary approach. We create applied artworks that transform and elevate any space.
For over 25 years our studio has worked with leading international designers and architects from around the world to produce custom commissioned artworks for luxury brands in the hospitality and retail industries as well as residential spaces.

In this Junior Project Manager role you will be required to monitor and control project progress to ensure objectives are met (schedule, budget, expectations) including:

– Lead project planning sessions and kickoff meetings
– Provide updates on key milestones to internal and external stakeholders
– Quoting based on direction from PM
– Periodically review suppliers and work with them to lower cost as well as find alternate sources
– Ensure timely procurement of project materials
– Execute safety initiatives
– Periodically file samples in library
– Work with PM, Studio Manager and 3D Manager to coordinate tasks and resources
– Ensure that projects fulfill budget and quality standards
– Work with PM and designers to understand expectations of the project and perform QA as needed – Periodically use SOS software to manage inventory
– Monitor and update project schedules

The right candidate for this role will have an interest and 2-4 years of professional experience in the design industry (architecture, interior design, studio). A highly organized professional, you will demonstrate a willingness to be flexible, versatile and tolerant if asked to change tasks while maintaining effectiveness and efficiency.
As a coordinator and liaison with internal teams as well as clients and suppliers you should be able to build and maintain positive working relationships to achieve the goals of the organization. Understand ethical  and inclusive behaviour and business practices and ensure that own behaviour is consistent with these standards and aligns with the values of the organization.

We’re looking for a high level of attention to detail as well as an ability to read architectural drawings, excellent organizational organizational, time management, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure and respond to fast changing priorities and deadlines and strong verbal & written communication skills in English.
